Let’s call it what it is. We are the ringers of real estate
I have been in a mustering camp since I was 15 with a few spells for realestate and as much as I love blading a Mickey around as much as the rest of us, well you don’t buy your own block & mob of cattle by working someone else’s on a day rate or even with your own contracting camp as I have done for years now.
Amongst the mustering I was always drawn to real estate. Owning it, selling it, working in sales, fascinated in land growing in value, and the idea that you can buy something, hold onto it, and make money. Obviously always drawn to cattle stations and I am just as hooked on commercial property, I love business; seeing the opportunities in how a place can make money from the business side.
For me, real estate isn’t just selling houses, it’s about the land, the lifestyle, and the chance to build something solid for the future. Im not talking shit, i am not a typical agent. I have a soft spot for rural acreages giving families the opportunity to live with peace & space and plenty of random animals and machinery because there is no reason to not get the thing when you have the space.
I first worked in real estate in CQ Emerald working under some older agents and I just couldn’t stand the sitting around in the office. Things moved slow and people were alright with that. I wasn’t. I was keen to learn and do as much as I could. I rang Kmart and tried to get them to buy the old toy world shopping centre. Surprisingly easy to get in touch with the right people actually.
Adrenaline. Hooked.
Despite having an amazing and inspired licensee who was a property developer and well established between the sunny coast and Emerald I really needed some teaching and help from the older staff. I from seeing the inside of an office I strongly believe everyone should do a few years in a mustering camp and get some spring in their step and it would help them in any direction they choose to go.
Fast forward 10 years.
The last couple of years have been based on our own little weaner growing blocks on the Woodstock Giru road and traveling back and forth to our mob of cattle at Croydon and to clients jobs mostly in the gulf and though I myself move into more commercial and rural residential blocks down here with growing demand, the livestock side stays a strong part of our business with my partner running that.
Having the contracting camp side, I know what it’s like looking for a hand and we like to offer more than just our agencies cattle and real estate selling services to our clients.
Our contracting crew is at the ready with just a couple of slots left if you book in early enough for 2026. If you sell your cattle & land with us we are here to help mustering, preg testing and other husbandry practices (ask) #webb
